WORK / CV

October 2019 - December 2022
DigitalFish | Meta | Disney

DIGITALFISH

I worked at R&D company DigitalFish from October 2019-December 2021. Most of my work through this company was at Meta (described beneath this section), but I also worked on a couple projects with DigitalFish's IP in my time there.

Cavalcade AR Project

I colored 100's of frames of 2D animations and supported prototyping physics for the app in Unity.

Group Calling Effects

In Fall 2022, I was brought on to help with the ideation and creation of multipeer AR effects for Meta's Messenger and Instagram video calling products. I was responsible for creating the idea and basic Spark AR framework of the "Elemental Tea Party" effect (no longer active).

DISNEY

Also through DigitalFish, I was able to work on an internal testing product for Disney in Fall 2022.

Virtual Theater Tool

My first real foray into Unreal, I was responsible for creating most of the technical elements of this project. The final result is a VR theater that switches between 3 viewing experiences, each with different videos mapping to them.

META

I was a contingent worker on the Creative Engineering Team at Meta's Reality Labs from October 2019-June 2022. I worked onsite and remotely, and spent most of my time there working on experiences for Meta’s Portal product, with a few contributions to Instagram projects.

Maintenance

A major portion of my work was the complicated task of maintaining and debugging legacy effects for the Meta Portal.

Creation

This part of my job covered 3 types of creation in Spark AR:

  1. Creating actual effects to publish

  2. Creating templates for categories of effects in order to streamline effect creation

  3. Creating prototypes to test new capabilities and see how they could be used in effects

Odds & Ends

Creative Eng started as a Portal team, but proved versatile enough to be called on by many different teams and products at Meta. I was responsible for creating a few projects for Instagram:

  1. An emergency (2-day) storyboard of a new feature to be pitched (the gif above this section shows a part of it)

  2. An adaptation of the above Harry Potter Portal effect as a stand-alone Instagram mask

  3. A template for cosmetic effects to be used by makeup brands in advertising on Instagram
